I’ve been subleasing a place while at intership, and I’m living with these 2 undergrad girls. They are so messy and inconsiderate. I can’t wait to be done with here, so I can move out. I don’t understand how they can live in dirt.
One girl cooked food last thurs night and the kitchen was still a mess on sat night. I’m talking every burner had a pot on it, the countertop was covered with dirty dishes, and the sink was full to the brim. Oh and leftovers were stored in the microwave. Nasty.
This same girl does not understand the thermostat and instead of increasing the temp when she is cold, she basically turns it off. What in the hell. It’s way better to be cold than it is to be hot.
I went to a used bookstore after work yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised at their selection. I was able to scoop up 6 books for only 4 dollars!! I have plenty of stuff to read and I’m pretty excited. I was also able to get a book that is the selection for a book club that I’ll be attending in july. Man, this summer is working out to be awesome!
So, I have previously browsed the groups on meetup.com, but I’ve never actually gone to one. since blogging-ot recommended it, I actually went to a meet and greet yesterday. It wasn’t too bad, I chatted up a couple people my age and I may be going on a hike this weekend!
This is one of the few times that I’ve really put myself out there without a wingman!
Yes, I am in a vonderful city, and there is plenty of history to get lost in, but I don’t know anyone around me! I went on a self guided tour yesterday, and I had a good time, but I had to take selfies whenever I wanted a photo.
I don’t get embarrassed easily, but crouching and making a wacky face all while trying to manage an iphone is difficult! I’ve been searching online for hip hangout places to try and get some intelligent people to talk to, because Siri isn’t the best conversation partner, haha.
So far, I’ve spent my fair share of time at barnes and nobles, starbucks, the mall, target, and the downtown area. There are a few colleges in the area, so I know there are young folk milling about, but I just can’t seem to find them. I’m pretty shameless, so I don’t have a problem striking up a conversation, but there needs to be someone to have the conversation with!
The following folk don’t count at all, mostly because I couldn’t continue the conversation:
So that’s that. I’m planning on going to a open mic tonight to see what’s poppin downtown, and perhaps an acoustic show on tuesday, we’ll see. I really want some people to hang out with. goodness.
